Questionsand answers
Short answers about the line, the contractors and what to check before work starts.
About the line and the work
Is this site an HVAC company?
No. It is a phone referral line. When you call, an independent contractor that serves your ZIP code picks up. The contractor, not this site, quotes the job, does the work and stands behind it.
Does a call commit me to anything?
A call is a conversation. You can describe the problem, ask what the visit involves and decide afterward. Nothing is booked unless you agree to it with the contractor.
Which ZIP codes does the line cover?
Burleson ZIP 76028 is the main one. Crowley ZIP 76036 is also covered. Coverage depends on which contractors are taking calls for a ZIP, so a call from outside those areas may connect somewhere else or not at all.
Can I use the line for a furnace as well as an air conditioner?
Yes. Air conditioning repair, replacement and cleaning are on the list, and so are furnace repair, replacement and cleaning. Tell the contractor what kind of equipment you have at the start of the call.
Who sets the price?
The contractor does. Cost depends on the equipment, the age of the system, the parts involved and how hard the work is to reach. Ask for the scope in writing before work starts.
How do I know the contractor is licensed?
Texas law says nobody may do air conditioning and refrigeration contracting without a TDLR contractor license. Ask for the license number and look it up on the state's search page. The guide on this site walks through it.
Does the city need to be involved?
Sometimes. Burleson runs a Building Permits and Inspections office at 817-426-9632. A contractor can tell you whether your job needs a permit, and the office can confirm.
What if the equipment is a type you do not mention?
Describe it when you call. The contractor on the line will say whether it is something they work on.
Cooling and heating
How hot does it get in Burleson?
The National Weather Service's Dallas/Fort Worth record averages 20.2 days a year at 100 degrees or higher, mostly in July and August. Burleson sits about 14 miles south of Fort Worth, so the picture is similar.
Do winters matter for the furnace?
Yes. The same record averages 29.2 nights a year at or below 32 degrees, and February 2021 held 139 hours in a row at or below freezing.
Where do I read more?
The guides cover why an AC stops cooling, repair versus replacement, license checks and winter heating.
Call and get a contractor on the line
The number connects you with an independent HVAC contractor that serves your ZIP code. Early in the day usually leaves more room on a contractor's schedule.
